Alira responded with a laugh. The dragon to her right, grew angry quickly at her indignance.
"How dare you mock this hearing! You are accused of serious crimes and you stand there with indifference!"
Alira now knew that this dragon would be the focus of her attack. He was the most arrogant and least cautious. The other senator had looked confused at her laugh and had actually taken a step back.
Emagean simply glowered harder, if that was possible.

"You're laws mean nothing to me. I accepted your invitation simply to gain that which I seek."

"Insolence!" The first senator bellowed.

"Quiet!" Emagean roared. "You're crimes were against the dragons and so you shall abide by our laws and be judged by us. State your plea."

Alira looked thoughtful for a moment then replied. "Well, then by your laws...I am guilty."

With that she flipped the lid and dropped the box revealing the Orb. At the same time an explosion of sound and light stunned the three dragons and all hell broke loose.
Alira had an ally, her half sister and Elemental Mistress of Fire, Alchimia. Also known as the

Fire Witch, Alchimia teleported in and set of a blaze of light and sound to stun the dragons. She then quickly established a heat shield between herself and Alira against Emagean. Alira used the distraction to summon the power of the orb she held. The arrogant senator recovered first and when he saw the orb it was too late. He immediately became transfixed. Green smokey tendrils reached out from the orb and seemingly drew the great dragon in and down to Alira's level. He tried to resist, but Alira's command was total. With the dragon charmed and in her power she simply needed to give him a command or her desire.

Emagean recovered next, just in time to see what was happening. Instinctively he let forth a blast of cold and frost, but Alchimia's shield held. Alira commanded the arrogant senator to simply tackle Emagean and his other cohort and take them over the ledge together and don't let
go. It was a simple command and didn't completely go against his nature, being able to fly and all, so the great silver dragon stood and rushed the two other dragons. Emagean, fully recovered, but surprised, dodged the senator's advance. The other dragon was not so lucky. Still recovering from the shock of light and sound, he found himself slammed hard then gripped like a vice as he and his fellow went over the ledge. Emagean stared in shock, but there was nothing he could do. He couldn't save both if he tried and getting Alira and the Orb were the top priority. Everything was coming apart, they had trulyunderestimated her. When Emagean turned back, Alira and Alchimia were fleeing up the stairs to the exit in the short round tower.

Now, several things happened at once. Emagean became suddenly aware that someone had entered his
temple chamber deep in the mountain. Another accomplice? He wondered. Then as he looked at the fleeing Alira and Alchimia, their exit was blocked by three figures that came out of the doorway. Additionally two humans bearing great bows appeared out of the square tower, while a sinuous gold form and a great bronze dragon flew over the peak. Finally with a roar and a burst of fire and smoke, Hrague Mor bounded onto the stone deck and went right for Emagean. How could this get worse he thought.
As Mao Shin and the bronze dragon Brandis Light came to his aid, Emagean yelled for them to get to the lower chamber and that he could handle Hrague Mor. He didn't want the other Orb stolen.

With a loud roar, Emagean faced the great red dragon and a battle of Titans ensued.

Story, characters and setting are all original by me. The context, dragons, magic and artifacts are all based in an Advanced Dungeons and Dragons universe, going on my knowledge of the game from the 80s to early 90s. It's my own world/multiverse creation, but I don't think I'll ever have the time to use it, so I'll write about it and illustrate it.
